Going by reports, Mamata Banerjee explicitly called the BJP the “first enemy” and urged for a joint platform to fight the newly sworn-in government led by Suvendu Adhikari.
Mamata says It isn’t the time to think. the enemy’s enemy is her friend, their first enemy is the BJP adding that a united platform can be created where all political parties against the BJP should unite.”
The call came following BJP’s 207 seats win in the 2026 West Bengal assembly elections, with Mamata Banerjee addressing a gathering on Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary.
