Priyanka Chigurupati, Executive Director of Granules India, made an impactful debut at the 79th Cannes Film Festival. She represented a new generation of modern Indian business leaders, proving that international influence extends well beyond the boardroom and into global culture and creativity.
At the red carpet she wore a custom sculpted bronze-brown saree designed by Ekaya Banaras, which featured copper floral motifs and a dramatic cape to give a traditional weave a contemporary twist. Her look was accessorized with bespoke jewelry by Hyderabad-based designer Kavya Potluri, including detailed ear cuffs and sculptural rings that offered a modern take on traditional Indian gold.
Priyanka described her ensemble’s cape as a modern interpretation of the traditional Ghunghat. Rather than representing concealment, the look symbolized the modern, empowered Indian woman stepping onto the global stage.
She highlighted that platforms like Cannes have evolved past just cinema. They are now vital spaces for intersecting media, entrepreneurship, and building global relationships.
