“Ishqa” first Bollywood film to be exclusively shot in Cyprus

Setting a new benchmark in global filmmaking, Yantra Films’ romantic dramedy “Ishqa” will be the first Bollywood movie to be filmed exclusively in Cyprus. Announced in Mumbai, this cultural milestone opens fresh avenues for cinematic and tourism collaboration between India and Europe.

Director Anjali Bhushan Mago, who teamed up with the composer duo Meet Bros to launch Yantra Films, will direct the film in collaboration with Cypriot producer Athena Xenidou of Ray Films.”

Cyprus will host the entire production lifecycle, including all filming, co-production, and post-production. The full cast and production team will relocate to the island for shooting in peak summer.

Backed by the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) Scheme, the film was warmly welcomed by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides during his state visit to India. Expressing enthusiasm for showcasing the island’s diverse landscapes to Indian audiences, the President highlighted the project as a growing cinematic and cultural bridge between the two nations.
