Southwest Monsoon to have landffallIn Kerala on 26 May

It comes as an extremely big relief to people fron the scorching unbearable heat. The weather bureau India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts the southwest monsoon to arrive in Kerala on May 26, nearly six days ahead of the normal June 1 date. Following its landfall in Kerala, the monsoon is expected to advance northward, likely bringing rain relief to Maharashtra between June 5 and
June 10.
Conditions are favorable for early onset, with the IMD already issuing warnings for heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and strong winds across the state and Lakshadweep.Maharashtra & Mumbai: While extreme heatwave conditions have persisted across parts of central India, Mumbaikars and the rest of Maharashtra can expect pre-monsoon showers leading up to the official arrival within the first or second week of June. Typically, once the monsoon hits the southern tip of the mainland, it advances up the western coast to reach the Konkan and Mumbai in about 10 to 12 days.
