Amidst his visit to Australia on official visit, Prime Minister Modi visited the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) alongside his Australian counterpart
Anthony Albanese. During the visit, the two leaders launched the India-Australia Sports Collaboration Roadmap and used the setting to celebrate the shared cricketing heritage and growing bilateral ties between the two nations.
PM Modi signed jerseys for young cricketers, met former Australia captain Steve Waugh, and posed with Australia’s official mascot.
The PM said “Let us play together, let us win together”: Decisions are as fast as T20s. And our partnership is as long and deep as a Test match”.
