BJP on Modi’s diplomatic gains and Rahul’s absence

The BJP used a press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi to contrast the contrasting itineraries and public narratives of the two leaders.

BJP MP Sambit Patra claimed that while PM Modi secured major international wins including being conferred Indonesia’s highest civilian honor, finalizing Australian investments in India’s National Investment and Infrastructure Fund, and establishing a new strategic partnership with New Zealand Rahul Gandhi was absent and plotting abroad.

Patra took a sharp dig at the Congress leader, stating that if he had emulated Modi “even a little bit,” he would not have lost 99 elections.

Amidst the tour, the Prime Minister secured a $500 million Australian dollar investment for India’s infrastructure and signed pacts on rare earth minerals and defense. In Indonesia, he was awarded the ‘Bintang Adipurna (Star of the Republic of Indonesia), while his stop in New Zealand yielded a new Strategic Partnership aiming to double bilateral trade by 2030.
The BJP’s remarks were widely circulated across major news networks, framing the foreign tour as a major victory for India’s foreign policy while framing the Congress’s opposition efforts as disconnected from national interests.
