Following massive youth demonstrations at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over national exam irregularities, a similar wave of intense student-led agitation has erupted in Jharkhand. Thousands of civil service aspirants have converged in Ranchi, turning the state capital into Jharkhand’s own “Jantar Mantar” to protest systemic paper leaks, rigging, and delays in the JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations.
The ongoing demonstration has drawn national comparisons to the Delhi protests, with citizens from across India sending food, bedding, and financial aid to support the local students sleeping on-site. Demanding the absolute cancellation of compromised exams, an independent CBI inquiry, and comprehensive structural reform, the students have entered an indefinite satyagraha and hunger strike. In a significant escalation of the movement, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leadership formally visited the protest venue in Ranchi to extend full solidarity and back the aspirants’ demands for administrative accountability.
