Akshay Kumar has kicked-off shoot for “Samuk” an ambitious survival-action thriller that marks his first project in the sci-fi alien genre.
The camera rolled in London where the team plans to shoot roughly 90% of the movie in a single continuous schedule before wrapping up in Mumbai.
The project reunites Akshay with producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah after a 13-year gap following past hits like “Aankhen”and “Namastey London”.
The Kanishk Varma directorial , has been in development for over two years and is backed by Sunshine Pictures.
The story which blends military realism, survival horror, and alien mythology features Hollywood technical crew, including Oscar-nominated creature designer Alec Gillis (Alien Predator) and action director Luke Tumber.
Reportedly, the makers are prioritizing practical, physical creature effects over heavy computer graphics.
The pan-Indian theatrical release is targeted for 2027.
