Amjad Taha UAE political analyst salutes flydubai’s brave Indian pilot, Captain Smit Machchhar.

Flydubai’s Captain Smit Machchhar has received widespread international praise after successfully saving 174 lives during a critical mid-air crisis aboard Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30.
In the midst of the flight
Captain Machchhar was seriously injured in a confrontation inside the cockpit when his co-pilot allegedly attacked and stabbed him, causing the aircraft to enter a rapid descent.

Notwithstanding his severe wounds, Captain Machchhar maintained composure and managed to unlock the cockpit door so that passengers and crew could intervene and restrain the co-pilot. Two off-duty pilots aboard the aircraft then assisted in guiding the plane to a safe emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Following the landing, Captain Machchhar was admitted to a hospital in Tabuk for medical treatment, with support and monitoring coordinated by the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah.

The incident has drawn global attention and tributes, including high praise from UAE-based political analyst Amjad Taha, who honored the captain by comparing his courage in the face of danger to Arjuna and his unyielding dedication to duty to Hanuman. World leaders and officials, including US President Donald Trump, have also hailed Captain Machchhar as a hero for his life-saving actions.
