Delhi Police releases footage refuting CJP detention allegations

The Delhi Police department on Monday 12 October, officially released recorded video footage to clarify the circumstances surrounding the preventive detention of activist Abhijeet Dipke and counter recent claims made by the Cockroach Janta Party.
The political party had previously alleged that the department kept the activist uninformed about the passing of his grandmother while he was in custody. The newly released visual evidence directly disproves these assertions. The footage documents a female officer sensitively breaking the tragic news of the bereavement to Dipke during his time in detention.

As per Deputy Commissioner of Police Neha Yadav, the department extended full administrative support to the activist upon receiving the news. Personnel explicitly offered multiple immediate travel arrangements to facilitate his return home, including flight, train, or bus tickets. Officers also provided access to official department phones to allow him to contact his family members without delay.
The recorded footage shows Dipke declining all logistical and communication assistance from the officers on duty.

On camera, the activist states that he is fine remaining where he is and notes that he does not remember his family’s phone numbers.
The Delhi Police department releases this footage in the interest of public transparency and to present the verified facts of the matter.
