Sony Marathi has announced a production shift for the much anticipated premiere of the quiz show Kon Honar Crorepati. The season opener was originally scheduled to feature a historic 28-year on-screen reunion between iconic host Madhuri Dixit and veteran actor Nana Patekar. However, following the sudden demise of Nana Patekar on October 8 due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 75, producers reconstructed the launch episode to accommodate the loss.
Acclaimed actress Sonali Bendre has stepped in as the inaugural celebrity guest for the revamped premiere, appearing alongside the cast of her upcoming film. The episode, which went live on Monday, October 12 across both Sony Marathi and the digital streaming platform SonyLIV, featured an emotional tribute delivered by Madhuri Dixit honoring the enduring legacy of her late Wajood co-star
Production executives confirmed that while the season will proceed under its new formatting, the inaugural broadcast remains dedicated to celebrating the indelible cinematic footprint left by Patekar.
