Thackeray confirms final split with BJP closing all doors on future alliance

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has explicitly stated that all communication with the Bharatiya Janata Party has ended for good, drawing a definitive line under their former decades-long alliance. Speaking on the political trajectory of his party since the fallout after the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, Thackeray clarified that the breakdown in relations is absolute, encompassing both political coordination and personal dialogue.
The former Chief Minister emphasized that the decision to sever ties was deliberate and permanent, effectively ruling out any possibility of reconciliation or future seat-sharing arrangements. He noted that the political landscape has shifted significantly since 2019, and his party remains committed to its current ideological path, independent of its past partnership. The announcement sets a clear stance for the party’s cadre and coalition partners ahead of upcoming political cycles, signaling a total focus on new alliances.
