Meet actor Sanya Malhotra: Comfort in professional life scares her
For actor Sanya Malhotra, she has no time to pause. Ahead of four films scheduled for release in 2023, the actor is moving one from movie set to another.
Sanya’s line-up of films for 2023 is promising, “Jawan”in which she share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, the Hindi adaptation of acclaimed Malayalam film “The Great Indian Kitchen”, a comedy in “Kathal” and a period drama in “Sam Bahadur” – Malhotra counts herself lucky to be a part of such eclectic stories.
For Sanya, these films are so diverse, yet rich in their storytelling. To reunite with Guneet Monga for Kathal after Pagglait, worked with Meghna Gulzar and Vicky Kaushal in the Sam Manekshaw biopic, and a big film like The Great Indian Kitchen – these films however helped her check many boxes on her wish list.
Notably, the year 2022 was tepid for the actor. Though Love Hostel with Vikrant Massey garnered positive reviews, it failed to attract viewers. Her second release, HIT: The First Case opposite Rajkummar Rao, failed make an impact at the box office either.
Nevertheless Malhotra, is unfazed, continuing to front subjects that speak to her. She doesn’t look at choices as risks; but only see them as opportunities.
As of today, she feels everything is mainstream, or nothing is. Her journey began with an unconventional character in Dangal, and what followed was a natural progression. Comfort scares her. In her personal life, likes being easy-going, but professionally, anything uncomfortable excites her because she is aware those are the areas where she will grow in life. Growth, as it is, is not a comfortable experience.
Meanwhile, the actor constantly seeks to grow as an actor, with a sincere hope that it never stops.
