Actor Rani Mukherji attends Kolkata International Film Festival as Chief Guest
The Kolkata International Film Festival as part of its 28th edition, on 15 December, has invited Bollywood actor Rani Mukherji as a distinguished guest considering her illustrious career over the last 25 years and her immeasurable contribution to the Indian film industry.
Notably, Rani will be felicitated at it the KIFF’s inaugural ceremony where dignitaries from world cinema, Indian cinema and West Bengal will make their presence.
For Rani, Kolkata is always special to her as she feels it brings back her childhood memories and reminds her of her love for cinema that grew in her heart from an early age.
The actor makes it known that Interestingly, Kolkata International Film Festival has celebrated the legacy of filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak, Mrinal Sen, many Bengali artists and technicians who have contributed to creating this vibrant Indian film industry.
She further adds she feels honoured that at this around KIFF decided to laud her career and felicitate her alongside other achievers. It is a moment of great pride for her and she is really humbled to be receiving this honour in the presence of luminaries of West Bengal, India, and World cinema.
She hopes to meet and converse with the Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
