Hindi Cinema’s Veteran actress Mumtaz appeared at the Singing Realty Show
“Indian Idol” with Dharmendra after 50 years. She not only stunned the Participants and Judges but also the crew of Sony TV2.

She had bid adieu to Bollywood after acting in several highly successful films and after her marriage to biz magnate Mayur Madhvani and settled down in Uganda.

She ruled Bollywood in 60’s and 70’s and only heroine to have given maximum number of Box-Office hits. She is an exceptional dancer. Her steps are a delight to watch. After her it is Madhuri Dixit as far as dance steps are concerned.

People still remember her for dance and her acting in various films. She is one of those actresses whose glamor still never fades and is always evergreen. Notably, the charm, the charisma of the 1960-70’s was brought back in the Sunday 5 February episode of Indian Idol 13. Mumtaz was at her best and she grooved to her hit song ‘Koi Shahri Babu’ from ‘Loafer (1973)’. Interestingly Mumtaz still remembered all the dance steps of the song.

Dressed in an all-black outfit and sporting golden bangles, Mumtaz took to the stage with the Indian Idol 13 contestants. As the song started playing, she took a few spins and did the same moves she did 50 years ago for the song. ‘Loafer’. He man of Bollywood and a veteran actor Dharmendra was with her. Both met after 50 years.

Mumtaz’s most popular and successful films have been ‘Brahmachari ‘Ram Aur Shyam ‘Aadmi Aur Insaan, ’Sachha Jhootha’, ‘Apna Desh‘, ‘Aap Ki Kasam’ ‘Roti’ Khilona’
But it was with Dharmendra and Rajesh Khanna that she has done more films. She was very jovial and interacted with her fans.

It took Sony TV 2 reportedly few years to convince Mumtaz to do a show. And she did admit she was doing this for the most talented singers and her everloving fans who all want her to return to face the camera again. This speaks volumes the craze she garners even at 70+.
Though age has minutely caught up. She expressed her gratitude to her fans and people in general for all the love they have for her and want her to return to face the arc lights all over again.

The Mumtaz Rajesh Khanna pair from 1969-1975 ignited the silver screen with their most successful films. The pair was a delight to watch. The pair did 10 films together all box-Office hits.

Mumtaz always lived her life king-size and wherever she goes, she is still regarded as one of the actors of all time.
She has two daughters Natasha and Tanya both married. While Natasha is in Dubai Tanya is in Rome. Mumtaz lives in London.
