Not many may be versed that Amrita Rao was ‘disintegrated’ after she missed an opportunity to work with Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan in film ‘Wanted’.
Today, 7 June, Amrita Rao celebrates her birthday.
Amrita Rao reminds us of either her coy and timid Poonam from film Vivah or tomboy-turned ultra feminine Sanjana from ‘Main Hoon Na’.
It’s been almost two decades since Amrita made her acting debut. She was last seen in Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s “Thackeray”.
Amrita has had a fair share of career highs and lows. She had once opened up on how she lost an opportunity to be paired opposite Hrithik Roshan in Rakesh Roshan directorial “Krrish: even after doing a photoshoot for the film together. The actress had featured in “Ishq Vishk” and “Masti” when she was offered “Krrish” , however Priyanka Chopra was roped in because she looked too young to be paired opposite Hrithik.
Amid an interaction with the media Amrita had revealed, “Hrithik and she did a photoshoot and unfortunately the chemistry was missing as she was looking too young for him. Nevertheless, she didn’t have any hard feelings on losing Krrish because she strongly believed in destiny that leads each individual in life.
For the unversed post ‘Vivah’ Amrita Rao was flooded with wedding proposals from US and Canada. They would send pics of their house, and moms’.
Amrita had also shared how she still cherishes the quality time she spent being associated with Krrish and that she continues to share a good bond with Rakesh, Hrithik and his former wife Sussanne Khan as she is their “favourite”.
She had also shared once that she should be really lucky since the Roshans have loved all her films and she’s the favourite of their family. It feels so good because the family is known for giving hit after hit! And can you believe that Rakesh Roshan is her fan (laughs).
Hrithik Roshan first acted with Priyanka Chopra in Krrish and then again in Krrish 3, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi were the new additions to the superhero film franchise.
Amrita Rao has moved on and now besides acting. She and her husband Anmol own a YouTube channel called Couple Of Things. The couple recently wrote a book with the same name as their vlog. The book was launched by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in February, this year.
In her book, Amrita revealed that she was initially offered a role in Salman Khan‘s Wanted (2009) but her final contract didn’t come through because her own manager sabotaged it.
“A few months later, she was in Hyderabad shooting for a Telugu film with south superstar Mahesh Babu. One evening, back from the shoot in the lobby of her Hotel Taj Banjara, she bumped into a production guy who worked closely with Boney Kapoor. ‘Oh, hi Amrita! How are you doing? If only our dates hadn’t clashed, you would be shooting for us with Salman Khan for Wanted,’ he said. Amrita looked at him blankly. ‘When was she approached for Wanted?’ she asked, confused.
