Neil later made it known that Shah Rukh was very supportive after that.
Neil Nitin Mukesh, who has not appeared in any Hindi film since the 2019 release Saaho, recently opened up about the supposed argument he had with Shah Rukh Khan a few years ago and the video from the event is often circulated on social media where Neil can be heard telling the superstar to âshut upâ after he asked the actor on his surname since Neil Nitin Mukesh are all first names.
Over a chat with a media persona, Neil laughed at the incident and said that this was ânever meant to be an insultâ addeding that he has a lot of love for Shah Rukh Khan. Speaking on that bit on the stage, Neil said, âHe was having fun with him. Shah Rukh Khan nows this and he too is aware of this too. He shared that Shah Rukh had given him a heads up on the bit but he wasnât fully aware of what was coming.
When asked if the bit was scripted, the New York actor said, âIf you say so, Iâll believe it. If you want to call it scripted, let it be, but there was love.â
Neil further stated that Shah Rukh wasnât upset with him after he asked him to shut up. âHe only told him that Iâll have some fun with this. But there was also a pre-warning from him saying that he will have fun with you, you do your thing. So Shah Rukh asked âsir, what level of fun are we talking about?â He said, âwhatever you can think of, do it.â He gave him that liberty so he did it.
Meanwhile Neil said that after the incident, Shah Rukh Khan told him, âYou did well.â Neil added that he would ânever disrespect his elders.
