Rahat Tasneem Jharkhand Giridih based, first female KBC Crorepati who had.no bank account and PAN card and now runs Garment Showroom in Jharkhand.

The 15th season of the most popular Quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC) which kicked-off on Monday August 14 with Amitabh Bachchan who once again took charge as the host of the programme.

With no doubts, KBC has emerged a very popular show and has made its mark in the Quiz Show as the most watched programme ever since it was aired. Every year several people appear on the show with a cherished dream to win and walk home with crores and transform the course of their life.

Notedly, KBC got its first woman crorepati amid KCB 4 in 2010 after 10 years when Rahat Tasneem found a place in the sun in winning the prize money of Rs 1 crore. Rahat Tasneem was a much confident woman and managed to leave a mark on Amitabh Bachchan too. Rahat hails from Giridih in Jharkhand. The 37-year-old reportedly made full use of options of ‘phone a friend’, ‘double dip’, ‘expert advice’ and ‘audience poll’ to walk home with the coveted prize.

“But, from the stage of Rs 3.20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh, she was much aware of the answers and never needed lifelines. When Amitabh Bachchan asked her where did did she get her confidence from, she shot back, that it stemmed from self-trust and the fact that she knew it all Rahat once revealed in an media interaction.

Believe it or not, Rahat had only Rs 3 as balance in her mobile phone when she decided to send an answer on Hindu mythology to participate in KBC. She decided to take a chance and send the SMS. Eventually much to get bewilderment, Rahat got selected and was called for an audition in Mumbai. She couldn’t believe her eyes over her selection. The contestants were informed that a bank account and PAN card was mandatory. Rahat recalled that When she returned home, the first thing she did was to open a bank account and apply for PAN card.

Notedly, Rahat now runs a garment showroom at a mall in Giridih.
