Paanie Kashyap opens up on her big Bollywood Debut

Meet Paanie Kashyap. She makes her acting debut and shares screen space with Karan Hariharan, son of singer Hariharan, in the
Pradeep R K Chaudhary
directorial Pyaar Hai Toh Hai.

Amid her chat with the media, Paanie shares her background, saying that she hails from a small town with dreams. Obviously, it wasn’t easy or a cakewalk for being young and naïve. But she soon learnt the tricks of the trade in the world of Hindi cinema. She also realised that the biggest tool other than the confidence you have is the honing of professional skills. It was this realisation that paved her entry to theatre.

She added, that fter being part of theatre workshops and theatre groups, she soon landed a lead role in Ashadh Ka Ek Din, a play scripted way back in 1958 by the legendary Mohan Rakesh.

She approached every show as if it was her first appearance.
It is said that the vista of theatre is bigger than the vista of the 70 MM screen too. And armed by the reactions and critique of the live audiences of theatre production Paanie featured in a short film as well as the music video of Sajana. But she was in pursuit of her debut film.

She recalled that although she received a few offers she didn’t grab them as her voice from within was telling her to wait.

An aspiring actress gives several auditions and every audition pins hope and heartbreak too. However, after one such audition, the makers called her to inform that they had finally found the ‘Nimmo’ that they were looking for all this while. “Soon filming started and the film was titled Pyaar Hai Toh Hai. She has butterflies in her stomach as she eagerly awaits the film’s release on the big screen on September 28.
