Meenakshi Seshadri recalled the 2nd innings in her career in films and wants to do things differently.

Notably, the actress was a sensation in the ’80s and ’90s, but moved to the United States following her marriage in 1995. The actress articulated that in her new phase in Mumbai, she wants to reach out and reconnect with old friends from the film industry, including Sangeeta Bijlani.

In an interview with a news channel, the 60-year-old actress affirmed that when she returned to India, her ‘Hero’ co-star Jackie Shroff was the first person she reached out to.

Not surprisingly, she said that Jackie welcomed her return to the Mecca of Hindi films, Bollywood and took her along to film events he was invited to.

She added that Jackie has been very sweet in inviting her several times for events in Mumbai. Maybe he wants her to feel included and welcomed.

That’s his unique quality. In her first innings, she didn’t really believe befriending and hanging out with them but this time around she does. Another friend she wants to meet is Sangeeta Bijlani.

The actor then also opened up on the1983 Subhash Ghai directorial ‘Hero’ which made her an overnight star along with Jackie Shroff. Though they were immensely loved as an on-screen pair, she feels some regret over not being able to replicate the same chemistry with Jackie in another project.

She added that the success of Hero could not be repeated, because the few films Jackie and she did after that, the audience didn’t get what they wanted. They didn’t get that romance, the story of Jackie and Meenakshi and she feels bad about that, because with the right kind of films, she and Jackie and she could have done some really nice movies together.

Meenakshi also recalled on being ousted from Damini after she refused Rajkumar Santoshi’s marriage proposal.
It was below her dignity’.

The actress was among the top-most female stars of her time, featuring in popular films like Hero, Meri Jung Shahenshah, Ghayal, Damini and Ghatak. It was after Ghatak that Meenakshi quit the film industry and married investment banker Harish Mysore, with whom she has two kids.
