Actor Pankaj Tripathi, recognised for his performance in Singham Returns, Gangs of Wasseypur, Masaan and several other projects, articulates that actors are mere puppets and dance to the tunes of a director.
Pankaj graced the unveiling of the trailer of the third season of the fan-favourite show Mirzapur at Bandra’s star hotel alongside Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Varma, Anjumm Shharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur and Sheeba Chadha.
Even as the entry to the floor wasn’t for the media for the interaction, Pankaj revealed to the emcee, that actors are just puppets. The writers and directors are puppeteers, as they run the show and streamline the story. Actors do what they are told or briefed about.
Actor Ali Fazal intervened to make a minor correction in the statement of Pankaj as he looked at the media inside the Ballroom and said, “Chaliye, theek hai, upar waala humse karwa raha hai aur hum kar rahe hain…”
The Excel Media & Entertainment produced project is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and Anand Iyer, and the series is set to stream on Prime Video from July 5.
