“Sam Bahadur’ was well received by the audience and acclaimed by the media. Praises were showered on Meghna for her attempt to make the film on Field Marshal Sam Hormusji, the role of whom was portrayed by actor Vicky Kaushal who did justice to the role by portraying it flawlessly.
On the occasion of the Field Marshal’s death anniversary,
Meghna Gulzar and Vicky Kaushal visited his grave and
shared a picture featuring her, Vicky Kaushal, and others on social media. Meghna need to be appreciated for her gesture for her tribute to the Legendary Field Marshal.
In her post she wrote
“A Life Well Lived. Field Marshal Sam HFJ Manekshaw”.
Vicky played Manekshaw in his biopic ‘Sam Bahadur’ based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
Sam Manekshaw’s career in the army spanned over four decades and he was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.
Manekshaw, fondly called ‘Sam Bahadur,’ led the Indian Army to victory in the 1971 war with Pakistan, which resulted in the creation of Bangladesh.
Notedly, after ‘Raazi’, it was ‘Sam Bahadur’ Vicky’s second collaboration with Meghna Gulzar.
The film also featured Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles.
Vicky too was lauded for his performance.
Meanwhile, Vicky will be seen in the upcoming movie ‘Bad Newz,’ also featuring Triptii Dimri, Ammy Virk and Neha Dhupia.
It’s an Anand Tiwari’s directorial and is scheduled for theatrical release on July 19.
