working with Bollywood legends Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Even when lauding Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, Akhtar revealed that associating with Rajesh Khanna proved difficult due to his constant entourage of sycophants.
Notwithstanding their successful projects like Haathi Mere Saathi and Andaz, Javed Akhtar noted that the challenging work environment led to them not associating with Rajesh Khanna again. In fact, Rajesh Khanna is a fine human being, but his sycophants make it difficult.
And this is precisely the reason why Rajesh Khanna’s films started proving a debacle.
Javed and Salim Akhtar preferred Amitabh Bachchan since he wasn’t surrounded by sycophants. They found it very comfortable working with Amitabh Bachchan.
