Trilok was Raj Kapoor’s Kapoor’s uncle. Trilok was the son of Diwan Basheswarnath Kapoor and the younger brother of Prithviraj Kapoor. In the midst of that period, Prithviraj was already working in the Hindi film industry and had already earned a lot of fame. Following in his brother’s footsteps, Trilok Kapoor made his debut in Hindi cinema.
Trilok Kapoor started working in Bollywood during the 1930s and continued for 50 years.
Amidst his incredible time in Bollywood, Trilok Kapoor featured in more than 120 films.
In 1933, Trilok Kapoor made his debut in the film Char Darvesh.
Amidst that time, Trilok Kapoor was a character artist, playing supporting roles in many films. Regardless playing side roles, Trilok Kapoor would often overshadow the lead hero Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor at age 67. e 30s and 40s. The actor’s stardom grew rapidly the even filmmakers were desperate to offer projects to Trilok. Along with Trilok Kapoor’s stardom, actress Noor Jahan became the favourite couple in Hindi cinema. Apart from his chemistry with Noor Jahan, Trilok romanced Nalini Jaywant, Meena Shourie, Sushila Rani Patel, and even Sulochana on the silver screen. But unfortunately, despite being so popular, Trilok Kapoor was never seen as a top actor in Hindi cinema.
Fall of Trilok Kapoor
After the 40s, Trilok Kapoor stayed less in demand and was offered mediocre films. Apart from this Trilok Kapoor aligned himself with religious subjects and started appearing in many religious films. Trilok was appreciated for playing the role of Lord Ram in many films, and apart from this, Trilok also played Lord Krishna’s role. From 1933 to the ’60s, Trilok Kapoor played lead roles in about 30 films.

Many of Trilok Kapoor’s films were considered hits. It is said that he delivered more hit films than the legendary actor Raj Kapoor.
Notwithstanding putting in much effort, Trilok was never seen as a superstar in Bollywood. It is worth noting that many of his films had small budgets.
