IMD warns of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city
MumbaiĀ is likely to brace heavy to very heavy rainfall today at isolated locations across the city and its suburbs, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated in its latest weather report.
According to the weather bureau’s latest alert, there is also a possibility of occasional gusty winds reaching speeds of 45 to 55 kilometres per hour in certain parts of the city and suburban areas.
A high tide in Mumbai is expected at 8.33 pm, reaching 3.12 metres. A low tide of 2.49 metres is expected at 3.08 pm and again at 2.56 am on Monday, when the sea level will drop to 1.29 metres.
On Saturday, the weather bureau had extended a yellow alert for Mumbai till July 7, cautioning of heavy rainfall at isolated spots in the city and suburbs.
This alert signifies the possibility of adverse weather conditions and urges residents to remain vigilant, especially in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging.
