Unquestionably Govinda, acknowledged for films like Hero No. 1, Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Raja Babu, and Partner, has remained an.enduring star for decades.
Although, the actor hits the headlines very often for his statements and controversies, a recently resurfaced photo brought his wife, Sunita Ahuja, into the spotlight: An old picture from a Diwali party reappeared online, showing Sunita posing with Shah Rukh Khan. The rare festive moment quickly caught fans’ attention and went viral.
The throwback image was reportedly taken at a Diwali celebration hosted by producer Ramesh Taurani. Shah Rukh Khan, who had been making low-key appearances at several parties, was rarely photographed that season. Yet, this particular frame stood out.
In the photo, Shah Rukh looked sharp in a black shirt with brown-blonde hair, sporting his trademark intense look. Sunita, dressed in a golden-ivory outfit, smiled brightly beside him. Her son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, accompanied her to the event. The unexpected pairing in one frame created a buzz online.
In her recent candid interview Sunita opened up on her son Yashvardhan’s struggles in the industry. She emphasized that he built his journey independently, saying, “Yash is a self-made boy. He hasn’t taken help from his father. He has given 90 auditions… Govinda also never helped Yash.”
She also questioned Govinda directly, stating, “I told Govinda on his face, ‘Tu baap hai ki kya hai? If you won’t help our kids, who will?’”
In response, Govinda clarified his stance. Speaking to a news agency, , he said, “he left politics for his family as he never wanted political life to hamper his family life and have an adverse effect on them especially his children. So stepped out of politics. He asked Nadiadwala to guide his son, and he helped him learn different aspects of filmmaking).”
Alongside discussions about his son’s career, Govinda also addressed rumours about alleged affairs. When questioned, he firmly dismissed the claims.
He said, Tell me, when have such allegations not been made against me? In the beginning, my hands would tremble even while touching a girl, yet even then people started spreading stories about me. So the accusations being made now are nothing new—they are like an old love from my childhood. When it comes to love, things never really worked out for me. The love of my youth left me as well. And now, whatever people think is happening, they call it love in old age. It’s like a bull that is used by people all its life, and when it is no longer fit to plough the fields, they start thinking—send it off to the slaughterhouse. What difference does it make, after all?”
Meanwhile he reflected on how public figures often face speculation and allegations regardless of the truth.
