BN Tiwari completes decade long tenure as President FWICE

Going by his extensive tenure as the President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE),
B.N. Tiwari is often characterized as a veteran leader of the film employees’ federation.

On 20 April Tiwari was felicitated for his decade long tenure as President of
FWICE. Congrats to BN Tiwari and hope he will continue for many more years ahead.

Tiwari has been a prominent figure in the media, frequently taking a firm stance on industry issues such as COVID-19 safety protocols, working conditions, and the participation of contentious actors or foreign talent in Indian projects. Earlier he wad associated with BR Films as Sound Recordist.

Tiwari the current President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the oldest and largest body representing film and television workers in Indi is active in industry affairs, and advocating for national sentiments

As FWICE President, he leads the organization in overseeing labor issues, ethical standards, and safety within the Indian film industry.
He had demanded restrictions on film projects involving Pakistani artists, specifically targeting Diljit Dosanjh’s projects following border tensions.
He has called for the banning or editing of projects deemed to insult community sentiments or promote illegal activities.

He famously led the call for the Hindi film industry to boycott the Maldives as a shooting location in support of the Indian government.
