(BJP) and served as the party as president of the BJP Mahila Morcha in West Bengal and was later nominated as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Rajya Sabha from October 2016 to April 2022.
In a 2009 interview, Ganguly revealed she stepped gave up acting career for a period following challenges in her personal life and first marriage.
She is remembered not just for her acting but for her active involvement in, and vocal presence in, Indian politics.
