Meet Swagatha Krishnan-popular singer in Tollywood

Swagatha S. Krishnan is a Tamil playback singer, actor, and artist from Madurai. Recently headlined for leveling serious allegations of sexual, emotional, and financial abuse against a prominent, unnamed Kollywood (Tamil cinema) music composer.

Raised in a family of artists, she is originally from Madurai and has three siblings. She is the sister of Maya Krishnan, a familiar face from reality shows and stage performances.
Swagatha worked as a chorus artist in Chennai before getting noticed, later singing in Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu. She is known for songs like:”Yeno Pennae” from Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum (2019).”Kadhal Kanmani” from Bachelor (2021).

Due to the alleged trauma, she left the Tamil film industry and moved to Rishikesh, where she now runs a business named Taarabaai.

In a 56-minute interview , Swagatha made several shocking claims regarding a popular Tamil music director:

She alleged that around seven years ago, the composer sexually abused her inside his soundproof Chennai studio.: She claimed the composer recorded the sexual abuse on CCTV cameras and used the footage to threaten and silence her. She labeled the composer the “Epstein of Madras” (referencing Jeffrey Epstein), alleging that he had a habitual, long-term pattern of abusing multiple women, including children who came to the studio, often under the guise of mentorship.Financial: She accused him of borrowing money from her and not returning it, along with professional exploitation.Post-Trauma: Swagatha mentioned she suffered from severe trauma, requiring therapy and skin treatments to cope with the memory of the touch.

In her testimony, she clarified that popular music directors GV Prakash, Ghibran, Anirudh, and Imman are not the individuals she is accusing.
