The Maharashtra Cabinet declared the Maharashtra AI Policy 2026 at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday 1 May 2026 aiming to drive innovation, generate over 1.5 lakh jobs, and attract ₹10,000 crore in investments by 2031. The policy, led by the Maharashtra AI Mission, focuses on accelerating industrial growth and improving governance through AI adoption.

To strengthen the start-up ecosystem, the policy proposes a dedicated ‘AI Startup Venture Fund’ of 500 crore rupees. It also aims to establish 12 AI incubators across the state. The policy further includes major financial incentives to attract industries.

Training for 2 lakh youth and professionals.
