President Droupadi Murmu will present the 131 Padma Awards 2026 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
The prestigious honours are divided into three categories: 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri, celebrating exceptional contributions across various fields such as art, literature, and public service.
The much-anticipated 2026 civilian honours include several celebrated figures from Indian cinema and music:
*Padma Vibhushan: Indian Cinema’s legend late Dharmendra is being honoured posthumously for his exceptional career in cinema.
*Padma Bhushan: Acclaimed Malayalam actor Mammootty and renowned playback singer Alka Yagnik are receiving the award for their distinguished contributions.
*Padma Shri: Actor-filmmaker
R Madhavan is among the key awardees receiving India’s fourth-highest civilian honour for his impactful work in the arts.
