July 1, 2026, urging a revision of the newly launched VB-GRAMG Scheme. He warned that the scheme’s 60:40 funding split would add an unsustainable Rs. 5,000 crore burden on the state’s exchequer
Vijay requested full central funding for wage and administrative components, proposing a 75:25 sharing ratio for material costs rather than the mandated 60:40 formula He demanded that District Collectors be allowed to declare peak agricultural seasons dynamically based on local conditions, rather than a pre-notified fixed 60-day window He sought the inclusion of state-funded housing schemes under the VB-GRAMG framework and decentralised approvals for convergence projects Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister requested that the initiative continue operating under Mahatma Gandhi’s name to preserve its public goodwill and legacy.
