Legendary actors Shah Rukh Khan and Sridevi delivered a highly memorable pairing in the 1996 released action film “Army”. Their emotional on-screen chemistry and Shah Rukh’s extended guest appearance remain a nostalgic favorite for Bollywood fans.
Behind the Scenes of “Army”
Shah Rukh Khan signed on to the film primarily for the opportunity to star alongside the legendary Sridevi.
However, because Shah Rukh was noticeably younger than Sridevi, the director initially had him wear a fake moustache to look more mature. The moustache was eventually dropped during filming.
Inspired by the classic Ramesh Sippy directorial film “Sholay”,
the movie Army centers on Sridevi seeking revenge for her husband’s (SRK’s) death. Though Sridevi and SRK hardly ever shared the screen again, their brief but impactful dynamic proved that some pairings don’t need a full-length romance to leave a lasting impression.
