Legendary filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli celebrated Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s 44th birthday on July 18 by revealing two striking character stills of her as “Mandakini” in his upcoming global adventure epic, “Varanasi”. The film co-featuring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran is scheduled for a worldwide release on April 7, 2027.
The character reveal offers a major update on the actress’s highly anticipated return to Indian cinema:
Rajamouli released two contrasting images. One features a fiery, all-black, corset-inspired look, while the other shows a carefree, globetrotting version of the character leaping through Kenya’s Maasai Mara.
Rajamouli captioned the debut: “Grace when she smiles. Fire when she doesn’t” Mandakini
“Varanasi” spans multiple continents and thousands of years, blending Hindu mythology with a time-travel narrative. Chopra has previously hinted at high-action stunt work and a massive dance sequence in the film.
