PM Modi pays tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on His Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Modi on Thursday 20 August paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary remembering his contributions to the nation.Taking to social media, PM Modi recalled the late leader’s service to the country. The day was marked by solemn remembrances, floral tributes, and prayer meetings across the national capital, drawing participation from leaders across various political spectrums.

Senior government officials and political dignitaries gathered early in the morning at Veer Bhumi, the memorial dedicated to Rajiv Gandhi. Congress leadership and other prominent opposition figures also offered floral tributes, emphasizing his vision of a technologically advanced India.

Born on August 20, 1944, Rajiv Gandhi served as India’s sixth Prime Minister from 1984 to 1989. Taking office at the age of 40, he remains the youngest individual to hold the post. His tenure is widely recognized for introducing massive telecom and IT reforms, which laid the foundation for India’s modern digital revolution.

The nationwide events held today reflected on his policy shifts, lower voting age reforms, and initiatives focused on youth empowerment.
