In the ongoing crackdown, Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe warned that Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff could face fines of up to Rs 10 lakh if their responses to show-cause notices regarding a controversial mouth freshener campaign are unsatisfactory.
The Maharashtra FDA issued formal show-cause notices to the three prominent film stars over their promotional campaigns for Vimal Elaichi. The regulatory body flagged the advertisements as potential surrogate or indirect promotions for Vimal Pan Masala, a tobacco-linked product that is strictly prohibited within the state of Maharashtra.

As per Commissioner Mundhe failure to provide a satisfactory response invites a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, with further legal actions possible under clauses governing prohibited items.
