In a deeply poignant and emotional gathering, members of the Indian film industry came together on Tuesday evening to support actress Rani Mukerji and her family as they laid her mother, Krishna Mukerji, to rest at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu.
Krishna Mukerji, a veteran playback singer and the wife of late filmmaker Ram Mukerji, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 75.
Following the tragic news, close friends and industry peers arrived to pay their final respects. In a moving display of enduring bonds and heartfelt compassion, megastar Shah Rukh Khan, along with Gauri Khan, stood steadfastly by a grieving Rani Mukerji, offering comfort and strength during her hour of deepest sorrow. Actress Alia Bhatt, filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Anil Kapoor, and director Ayan Mukerji were also present among other prominent film personalities, lending their quiet presence and standing as pillars of support for the family.
Earlier in the day, an official statement was issued on behalf of the family, sharing: “With heavy hearts, we share that Rani Mukerji’s mother Krishna Mukerji, 75, passed away this afternoon.
