The 37th Singapore International Film Festival (October 21–November 1, 2026) has announced that Indian actor, director, and producer Aamir Khan will receive the Screen Icon Award. Khan will also join director Ashutosh Gowariker for a 25th-anniversary screening of Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India and participate in the In Conversation With series.
The festival opens with Hur Jin-ho’s South Korean political thriller The Assassin(s) starring Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho, marking the first Korean opening film in 22 years. Director Hur and cast members like Shim Eun-kyung and Park Sung-hoon will attend the opening gala.
The lineup features over 25 Singaporean and international productions from major global festivals.
Additionally, Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda will receive the Cinema Honorary Award for lifetime achievement. Further information on schedules and ticketing is available via the official festival platform.
