Rahman’s Sonorium unveils SoundHealingDome

Academy award winning Music icon A R Rahman is redefining music as a path to inner peace rather than mere entertainment. Driven by his belief that sound and silence can quiet the mind, the composer has helped conceive the Sonorium at tulah Clinical Wellness in Calicut.
The sanctuary features the worlds largest sound healing dome, an immersive architectural marvel designed to translate spiritual frequencies into physical and emotional restoration.

Developed in collaboration with acoustic research studio Svaram and Rahmans Indian classical ensemble JHALAA, the dome functions as a living instrument.

Its structural framework relies on a rare seven-petal geometry modeled after the human chakra system to optimize resonance.
Inside the acoustic sanctuary, precise sound frequencies ranging from 64 Hz to 1024 Hz work in harmony with specialized vibro-acoustic flooring. This technology converts audio signals into tactile vibrations that travel directly through the body, helping to quiet mental activity and regulate the nervous system.
For Rahman, the Sonorium bridges the gap between music and meditation, turning focused listening into a deeply therapeutic experience. The space offers visitors a vital internal reset, using carefully tuned tones and deliberate silence to guide the mind out of stress and into equilibrium.
