The highly anticipated cinematic epic Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is set to make its monumental international debut with a grand world premiere at the prestigious Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on October 27, 2026. This exclusive, invite-only event marks a historic milestone for Indian cinema, bringing one of the civilization’s greatest epics to a global stage ahead of its worldwide theatrical release.
The premiere will take place at the state-of-the-art David Geffen Theater, welcoming an elite audience of 945 guests, including prominent Hollywood personalities, international filmmakers, and global media representatives. Attendees will experience the visual spectacle in a special 3D screening, showcasing the cutting-edge visual effects crafted by Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG.
Coinciding with the festive run-up to Diwali, the event will also serve as a grand celebration of Indian culture.
The red carpet will feature a distinctive traditional theme, with guests requested to wear elegant Indian festive attire to mark the auspicious occasion.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the magnum opus features a stellar ensemble cast led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The film features an extraordinary musical collaboration between Academy Award winners A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.
Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Following the Los Angeles premiere, the first installment of this planned two-part cinematic event will release in theatres globally on November 5, 2026, across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages, including premium IMAX formats. International distribution outside India will be handled by Sony Pictures.
