As veteran adman and film director Pradeep Sarkar bid adieu and moved from mortality to immortality, several Bollywood Celebrities those who were privileged to have worked in his films and other wellwishers friends and colleagues reached his residence to pay their last respects
Those who reached the Santacruz crematorium were Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan with husband Sidharth Roy Kapur, Rani Mukerji, Dia Mirza, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rhea Chakraborty, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Gajraj Rao, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Sakshi Tanwar.
His wife Panchali confirmed his death.
However, it was filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri Kashmir Files fame shared the death news of the veteran adman writer and filmmaker.
The veteran filmmaker’s debut feature directorial was Parineeta, featuring Vidya Balan, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt.
Rani Mukerji, who had worked with Pradeep Sarkar on “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag”and “Mardaani.made it known that she had interacted with the filmmaker just a few days ago when he called to congratulate the actor for her latest movie “Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway”
She was much shocked by the news of Pradeep’s passing away. It was the other day Rani had spoken to him in fact, when when she had gone to Amritsar, to the Golden Temple where he had called me telling me about my film so we had a long chat
He insisted on to do a facetime call but that day the network was not good so she was unable to video call with him.
Prior to foraying into film production, Pradeep Sarkar was well recognised for directing several popular music videos and commercials. His other films include Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Lafangey,Parindey Mardaani and Helicopter Eela.
