BMC to make wearing mask mandatory in all its civic run hospitals’ employees, patients and visitors
Amid the surge in Covid cases in Mumbai BMC will mandate use of face masks in its hospitals. But the civic body has not mentioned when the masks will be mandatory in its hospitals for employees, patients and visitors to all the civic-run hospitals.
BMC also makes it clear that it will issue guidelines on home isolation of COVID-19 patients.
According to BMC in its release, steps has been taken as a safety measure following a coronavirus review meeting conducted by municipal commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal at the civic headquarters in south Mumbai.
However, there is no mention since when the masks will be mandatory in its hospitals. The BMC appealed to citizens above 60 years of age to wear face masks as a precautionary measure though it is not mandatory for them.
Meanwhile, as per the release the civic body will also issue guidelines on home isolation of COVID-19 patients.
