Indisputably, Yash Raj Films
orchestrated by Aditya Chopra is one of the oldest and biggest banners in Indian film industry.
The production house has been in existence since the last 50 years. After Yash Chopra passed away his son Aditya Chopra took over and as of today, it is rated as one of the biggest production house with large studios with latest technology. forward YRF efficiently. While the senior Chopra concentrated on romantic films, however, it is otherwise with Aditya.
Now the production house has started SPY Universe franchise where multiple films featuring superstars are coming under one roof. Yash Raj Films is heavily invested in SPY Verse and is concentrating on those films only.
News comes to the fore that YRF has decided to discontinue with Ranveer Singh after their 12 years association. Infact, it was courtesy YRF that Ranveer
won recognition name and fame and which was responsible for the present status that Ranveer is enjoying today.
YRF introduced Ranveer with from Band Baaja Baarat and went on to do six films with the actor. Ranveer Singh. Out of the six films, it was only “Gunday”.that earned for YRF profitable collections. All the rest five films “Band Baaja Baaraat”, “Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl”, “Befikre”, “Kill Dil” and “Jayeshbhai Jordaar” turned out to be average grossers in the wake of sale of OTT and satellite rights.
Moreover, Ranveer Singh is reeling through a lean phase career wise, since pandemic. He doesn’t have a blockbuster hit since Simba, a remake of “Temper”. Even his much-hyped movie ’83 struggled at the box-office. Jayeshbhai Jordaar, only made Rs. 15.59 crores. Much anticipated Cirkus also finished its run with 35.65 crores. Rumours are doing the rounds that Yash Raj Films, which gave him a start decided not to go ahead further with Ranveer.
Notably, at the moment, YRF and Aditya Chopra are fully occupied with YRF Spy Universe at the moment and recently delivered an all-time blockbuster with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan (2023). They are now all set for the release of Salman Khan’s Tiger and even plans for forthcoming films in this universe. A lot is at stake as each film is going to be heavily budgeted and hence, there can’t be room for error. Each film needs utmost concentration, right from pre-production to the last mile release. They believe a Ranveer Singh movie is not something that they can workout right now.
