“Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” Hema Malini shares her reaction to the moment at a recent book launch event.
The quintessential Bollywood’s Dream Girl was in New Delhi for the launch event of her brother RK Chakravarty’s autobiography, Galloping Decades.
In Karan Johar’s romantic comedy drama, Dharmendra and Shabana play long-lost lovers, reunited decades following their first meet by their grandchildren, played by Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Their romantic track unfolds in parallel to Rocky and Rani’s ‘prem kahani’ in the film.
Hema Malini openly revealed on living separately and doesn’t ‘feel bad’ on having unconventional married life.
Over the viral kiss, Hema said amid laughter, she hasn’t seen it and adding that she is for sure that people have loved the film. She feels much happy for Dharam because he loves to be in front of the camera all the time.
On the same day in Mumbai, Dharmendra spoke on the kiss at the success of the film.
Egged on by Ranveer to talk on ‘woh wala scene’, Dharmendra cheekily said unfortunately, he couldn’t attend the premiere, but, nevertheless received a lot of messages from people. He said that yaar he can do this in his sleep. As the rest of the cast of the film laughed, Dharmendra added, he can do it effortlessly.
Earlier, Karan also discussed the scene in an interview that “Shabana is a trooper and a master actor. She is a ‘baap’ actor as they say. There was no debate, no question (over the kiss scene). It was two great veterans, performing with absolute aplomb, no questions asked. It was glorious to see them.
According to Shabana in an interview to a channel, shooting the scene was ‘never an issue’, crowds have been ‘laughing and cheering’ in theatres during the scene. “It is true that she hasn’t kissed much on screen before. But who wouldn’t want to kiss a man as handsome as Dharmendra?”She quizzed.
