Vivek Oberoi, son of veteran actor Suresh Oberoi,has been successful in acting in multi-starrers to an antagonist with conviction
Vivek’s debut film was
‘Company’ in 2002 helmed by Ram Gopal Varma. Regardless being a multi-starrer with actors like Mohanlal and Ajay Devgn in the film, he portrayed his role as Chandu successfully.
Vivek thereafter drifted to action films with ‘Road’ and ‘Dum’. In the initial stages of his career, he was assumed as the next BIG superstar and some even looked at him as the next Shah Rukh Khan
Saathiya was the next romantic film which proved a success at the box-office. He was nomimated for Filmfare in the Best Actor category

The actor also appeared in Ram Charan-starrer Telugu film Vinaya Vidheya Rama, marking his Telugu debut. It received negative reviews from critics and proved a debacle at the box-office bomb, which prompted Charan to issue an apology letter
Following his successful performance inTamil and Telugu, Vivek marked his Malayalam film debut with the 2019 film ‘Lucifer’. He reunited with Mohanlal after his debut film Company. He played the antagonist Bobby and was praised for his performance and for standing out in a film that starred actors like Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and others.
But, the film that marked the directorial debut of Prithviraj Sukumaran was the highest grossing film of the year
Right following the release of ‘Lucifer’, Vivek was seen in the biopic of Omung Kumar directorial Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Unfortunately, the film tanked at the box office and received negative reviews from the critics and Oberoi was also criticised for his performance
Vivek returned to Malayalam In cinema in 2022, Oberoi returned as an antagonist opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran in the film ‘Kaduva’. Notwithstanding mixed reviews, it emerged as commercial success
Thereafter, he featured in MX Player series Dharavi Bank alongside Suniel Shetty. It received praise from critics and audience for the performances and occasional criticism for writing
On the personal front, in 2010, Vivek married Priyanka Alva, daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevan Alva. Their son Vivaan Veer Oberoi were born on 6 February 2013. Their daughter Ameyaa Nirvana Oberoi was born in 2015
