CM Devendra Fadnavis announces rental houses for 12 years for ineligible tenants under Dharavi redevelopment project
According to CM Fadnavis the rental houses is for 12 years for ineligible tenants under Dharavi redevelopment project adding that the houses will be transferred to the tenants’ names after the 12-year period.

While dismissing apprehensions over unsettling residents following the Dharavi redevelopment project, the Chief Minister has said that the state government is committed to its promise of housing for all.
CM dismissed the apprehensions voiced by the Opposition regarding the adverse impact of the redevelopment project on people living in Dharavi, Asia’s largest slum colony.
Occupants of all slums that existed before 2001 will be eligible for free houses, while those who do not qualify under the cut-off date—people who lived in slums from 2001 to 2011—will be given houses at their construction cost.
However, post-2011 tenants will be given houses on rent for 12 years.
According to rough estimates, approximately 1.25 lakh tenements—both residential and commercial units—will be accommodated in the project.
