A dust storm swept through Mumbai on Friday afternoon, reducing visibility and disrupting the daily life of Mumbaikars.
The strong dusty winds accompanied by dust clouds affected the city’s traffic and local train services.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) also warned about a possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and light spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai during next 3-4 hours.
The MeT department further urged the citizens to take precautions while stepping out.

The residents took to microblogging platform X and shared the videos of dust storm affecting the city.

Mumbai is one of the most unpredictable cities to exist it’s sunny outside for an entire day and next thing you know there’s a dust storm.

Meanwhile, the mainline services of the Central Railway were affected around 3.15 pm on Friday as a corrugated sheet roof was blown off due to gusty winds and struck overhead wires near Atgaon station between Kasara and Kalyan, around 60 km from Mumbai.

The financial hub of the country has been experiencing a gloomy weather for a past few days due to a cyclonic circulation affecting the state.
The much-needed showers are likely to bring down temperatures slightly, providing a temporary escape from the sweltering conditions gripping the city.
