Parineeta” re-releases on 29 August – trailer revived in 8k

In the vanguard of the re-release of ‘Parineeta’, the makers unvield a new trailer.

Now revived in 8K, the trailer retains the charm of the film released 20 years ago. The film, which defined actress Vidya Balan’s acting debut, re-releases in theatres on August 29.
The new trailer came ahead of the film’s re-release in theatres after 20 years since it first hit theatres.
‘Parineeta’ also featured Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. Despite two decades following the release, the trailer retains the original charm of the film with its music, powerful performances and strong narrative.
Vidya Balan in an earlier statement opened up over the film’s hit song, ‘Piyu Bole’ and saying that she remembers listening to ‘Piyu Bole’ for the first time; even then, she knew it was something special. There was a softness to it, a kind of innocence that she guess mirrored how she felt at the time – new, unsure, and quietly hopeful.
While sharing her thoughts on the trailer she said watching the trailer now, that melody brought back memories…shooting the scenes with (Dada) Pradeep Da, screaming instructions from behind the monitor and how he would act out moments and expect them to follow. His walk as a woman in her scenes always cracked hrr up…she would be like, ‘Dada, don’t need to teach her how to walk! Haha… she guessed she wasn’t aware of the camera; was just living those moments.
The 46-year-old actress expressed that she couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful debut. “That kind of purity… the magic of a first… Uff, Parineeta is full of that because it marked the first for many of them… and adding that’s something she will always hold close.

Sanjay Dutt also spoke about his character and said, “Girish was his first Bengali character, and was very happy to play it. He loved the Bengali culture. Girish was a quiet guy, but a lot was going on underneath, and he (Sunjay) really connected with that.
The actor also recalled his experience of working with the director and producer of the film. “Pradeep Dada was solid; he was always there to guide me through every beat of the script. He loved him and miss him. He (Sunjay) was happy that Vinod offered him the film, as he has depending on had a very successful association with him. He is family. Some scenes might look simple now, but they weren’t easy at all. ”
He further talked about the trailer and said, “Watching the trailer today brought everything back twenty years later. ‘Parineeta’ was never just another film for him(Sunjay). It was made with a lot of heart and a lot of love, and that’s why even two decades on, it has a special place in everyone’s heart.”
