Aamir to produce Dadasaheb Phalke’s biopic?
There are speculations of Aamir Khan going in for Dadasaheb Phalke biopic. However, Phalke’s grandson, Chandrashekhar Pusalkar, clarifies that the claims were false and went on to reveal lthat the script is ready and the project will start soon
Reports have also been doing the rounds for some time that Bollywood’s
Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, is working on a film based on Dadasaheb Phalke – the father of Indian cinema.
In the midst of an exclusive media interaction, Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson grandson, Chandrashekhar Pusalkar, when asked whether the speculations were true. Pusalkar revealed that he checked with Aamir’s team, and they confirmed that the reports about script
re-editing were indeed fake.
Adding that the script is finalized, and the project will mount the sets soon. Rajkumar Hirani has also evinced interest in the project. He believes if such a film is made, it will serve as a role model and help people understand his grandfather’s contribution in detail.
Reportedly Aamir has joined forces with director Rajkumar Hirani for the
much-anticipated biopic.
When asked how it was being the grandson of such a legendary figure, Pusalkar revealed that he considers himself very lucky to have been born into his family.
Adding When he was young, came to now that his grandfather was different. His name used to appear in newspapers, and his mother would proudly show it to everyone in their small home. She would say, “Look, how great his grandfather is.” Although never saw him – because he passed away in 1944, years before he was born in 1951 – his mother would often share stories about him. Sometimes she would laugh, sometimes she would cry, but she kept his memory alive for him.”
Continuing that she was very particular about discipline and often scolded me, saying, he should have been in his grandfather’s kingdom.” At times, he sed to get angry and wonder, who is this grandfather because of whom he keeps getting scolded? But later, as he grew up and learned there were reports that Aamir Khan is working on a film based on his
grandfather’s life. What is the truth?” He was thankful for her words.
