When SRK felt insecure over his looks and doubted his talent

In the midst of his 1992 Deewana debut, Shah Rukh Khan felt insecure over his looks and doubted his talent, questioning if he belonged in films. Co-star Rishi Kapoor boosted his confidence by staying after pack-up to watch him, then saying, “Yaar tujhme energy bahut hai” (Friend, you have a lot of energy).

It was SRK’s belief he wasn’t “hero” material based on his appearance and was worried about failing.
SRK stated that following Rishi Kapoor’s encouragement, “that day in his head he emerged as an actor”.
SRK later lauded Kapoor for his grace and large-heartedness in supporting a newcomer.
This encouragement helped SRK overcome his self-doubt and set him on the path to stardom.

Kapoor was unaware of the profound impact of his words at the time, which SRK credited as essential to his belief in himself.
